Celebration of Life

We will be gathering as a community to connect with all who loved Ellery and celebrate her vibrant spirit and life.

Saturday, January 4th

2PM - 6PM

Brick South @ Thompson’s Point
in Portland, Maine

The formal gathering will start at 2PM so please arrive a bit early to park and get settled.

What to Expect

There will a seated gathering starting at 2PM, followed by a true celebration filled with Ellery’s favorite things, food, drink, crafts, connection, joy and dancing! We honor everyone’s experience so please show up however you are and however you feel, and stay as long as you like. If you feel up for dancing and celebrating Ellery with joy, there will be many opportunities and we (and Ellery) would love that.

What to Wear

Ellery was vivacious and colorful and had a huge palette of favorite colors. In her honor, please dress cheerfully with plentiful bright colors. Ellery often capped off her signature style with bandanas and silver jewelry, so feel free to incorporate these elements (additional bandanas will be gifted at event). And wear your dancing shoes for sure - there will be dancing!

Getting There

Brick South is located within Thompson’s Point. For GPS, you can enter “Brick South Portland, ME” and it should show up, or “Resurgam Pl, Portland, ME 04102.” Travel past the bus and train station and follow the road over the train tracks to the complex behind it. Brick South is the largest and farthest building at the end of the complex (before you reach the Outdoor Rink/Event Venue area). It is shown as #7 on the map below.

Parking is available for the duration of the event at the venue in the lots leading up to Brick South. Parking on campus is free for the event - you do not need to pay at a kiosk. If you somehow end up with a ticket (which you shouldn’t), please come find someone at the event and it will get resolved.

The Celebration is being designed and planned by Ellery’s family with support from Event Planner Paula Cano of A Family Affair and Interspiritual Minister Rev. Devin Green of The Connected Way™ .

Remote Viewing

If you are unable to attend live but would like to connect virtually, the formal gathering will be recorded. If you’re interested in getting the recording, please add your name and email here and we’ll send it to you.

In lieu of flowers, Ellery’s family invites you to consider a contribution to Waynflete School’s dance program, which is an integral part of the Performing Arts curriculum at the school and something Ellery truly loved.
